👽 Ghost Beacon: solo space archaeology
A new one-page solo journaling game about recovering artifacts from an alien civilization before they are gone forever. Collect what you can and tell their story.
"Wonderful little exploration game, and great design!"
"...a perfect way to flex those creative muscles."
Gliese 667-Cf is a tomb.
Baked by a dying sun, the civilization that inhabited this planet has perished. Their buildings and monuments lie in ruin. Their culture buried under dust and sand. In an effort to be remembered, they have left behind beacons, beaming signals to whomever might hear them beyond the stars.
You can save this civilization’s history before it is too late — destroyed in a geologic cataclysm and erased forever.
Follow the beacons. Recover their artifacts. Tell their story.
You are a xenoarchaeologist following the beacons, recovering artifacts, and attempting to tell the story of this lost civilization. It is a race against a coming cataclysm — destroying artifacts and potentially blocking your path. Gather what you can, return to your ship, and leave.
Using what you have observed and recovered, tell the story of the lost civilization.
One-Page Micro vs. Complete Edition
There’s so much I wanted to pack into Ghost Beacon but had to put in the parking lot for the one-page edition.
The current plan is to add the following in the upcoming complete edition:
Detailed artifact and POI descriptions (vs. simple prompts)
More planets to explore with events
Choose your team from multiple archetypes
Polyomino-based rover storage system
Expanded planet maps
The final print will probably be similar in size and format to ADVENTURE! but exact details are to be determined. I don’t have a release date yet and will announce it here when it’s ready. Subscribe to be notified.
🆓 Grab a free community copy of Ghost Beacon One-Page Micro Edition during the One-Page RPG Jam running through August 17, 2025. With over 400+ entries so far, be sure to check out the submissions from other game designers as well!
