💀 What’s new at Exeunt Press
Exclusion Zone Botanist: Epsilon: The pre-launch of Exclusion Zone Botanist: Epsilon is going extremely well. We have over 300+ followers! Still planning on launching in Spring 2025. Follow to be notified on launch!
Exclusion Zone Botanist itch page updated: As part of the pre-launch announcement, I updated the original EZB page. The PDF for the Exclusion Zone Botanist zine edition is now available. It is no longer PWYW. The original trifold edition is still available. There are quite a few community copies too.
Eleventh Beast itch page updated: The zine editing of Eleventh Beast is now available, along with the original trifold edition. Community copies as well.
You are a Muffin reprint: Not sure what happened, but I recently sold a lot more You are a Muffin copies than expected.1 While there are a few copies left, I will be placing a print order soon. Apologies if it is temporarily out of stock. This also means that the EP Solo Games Bundle may be out of stock soon.
Get Exeunt Press, EZB, and Eleventh Beast shirts: Quick reminder that shirts are available at the Exeunt Press Shop. Some of them provide in-game bonuses.
Exeunt Press games are now in stock at newly opened Dice Goblin in Mount Joy, PA — taking over an entire row! Honored to be on the same rack as some of those other great games and supplements.2
I also have some other big distribution news that I want to share, but need to wait. Hopefully that will be in the next newsletter in about two weeks.

🏰 What makes a dungeon crawl good?
If you play TTRPGs, you’ve almost certainly heard of the term “dungeon crawl” or similar. At Skeleton Code Machine, I explored what makes a TTRPG or board game a dungeon crawler and what makes a dungeon crawl good.
The article includes some helpful design tips on exploration, player agency, and progression systems. Also, the poll at the end has some interesting results!
READ: at Skeleton Code Machine
Skeleton Code Machine is an ENNIE-nominated weekly publication that explores tabletop game mechanisms. It’s been called a “Seemingly endless source of gaming ponderings” and a “Goldmine.” Check it out at www.skeletoncodemachine.com.
🩻 TUMULUS Issue 2 coming in March
As soon as TUMULUS Issue 1 was shipping and in people’s hands, work began on TUMULUS Issue 2. I’m happy to report that the issue is complete and heading to the printer soon. Usually takes 2-4 weeks to receive after that.
If you want to get TUMULUS Issue 1 as part of your subscription, you need to subscribe no later than February 28, 2025. All new subscriptions that begin on March 1, 2025 or later will receive TUMULUS Issue 2 as their first issue.
You will receive four, quarterly issues no matter when you subscribe. The only difference is the first issue that you receive.

🎲 Recently played: River of Gold
Played River of Gold (Piggott, 2024) again on BGA. While it’s mostly a standard euro-style game (place workers, get resources), I’ve found myself wanting to play it again. I enjoy the one-way movement of boats (i.e. workers) down the river and the mixture of area control with contract fulfillment. The way dice roll luck can be mitigated with divine favor is particularly interesting.

This is a wonderful problem to have, and I’m certainly not complaining! Thank you to everyone who has placed an order recently. I hope you enjoy being a muffin or other pastry of your choice.
Side note: If you are into vintage BattleTech stuff, they have quite a bit.
