💀 Busy times at Exeunt Press
With a lot going on, it seems like a good time for a general update:
🌿 Exclusion Zone Botanist: Epsilon: This is the largest Exeunt Press project for 2025, and will launch on Kickstarter when ready. A stand-alone sequel to the original Exclusion Zone Botanist, it will be a solo game based on the Trophy Dark system. Follow the Epsilon pre-launch on Kickstarter so we can hit 500 followers before it goes live!
🍯 Doom Quest Bundle: I launched the Doom Quest Bundle for MÖRK BORG last week, and they are shipping now. If you enjoy puzzles and want to drop some into your next adventure, check it out. It also includes a print copy of Invitation to a Dark Masquerade and some other items. Watch the video for an overview.
🐲 ADVENTURE! Make Your Own TTRPG Adventure: If you enjoyed the Make Your Own One-Page RPG guide from Skeleton Code Machine, you’ll probably like the next one too: Make Your Own TTRPG Adventure. I just received the test prints (A5, 84 pages) and they look amazing! Pre-orders will open soon. 👀
🩻 TUMULUS Issue 2: The second issue of Tumulus has shipped and I’m already seeing photos on social media of them arriving at their destinations. The theme for this issue is “Keep the wolves at bay.” and includes a guest piece by
, creator of Godspark and Endling. Issue 3 “Kick open the door.” is already partially written and will also have a guest contributor!🎲 Unpub Festival 2025: I’ll be attending my first Unpub event this month! Unpub Festival 2025 will be held March 27-30, 2025 at the BWI Airport Mariott in Linthicum, MD (near Baltimore). Although it may seem strange, I won’t be bringing a game to have others playtest this year. Instead, my goal is to attend Designer’s Day panels on Thursday and be a playtester for others. If you will be there, please let me know in the comments!
🗡️ Three Knife Ash community copies: This collection of three thematic dice games includes Three Knife Ash. Push your luck to get the highest score, but make sure you roll at least three knives (1s on the die). Of course, you could make up for the missing ones by impaling your hand with a knife. Watch the trailer and grab one of the new community copies.
🤐 Secret projects: I was asked to contribute to a rather notable MÖRK BORG adjacent project, and I’m super excited about it. I will also be a stretch goal adventure author on another upcoming Kickstarter… possibly two. I’ll share details on them all when I can.
Meanwhile, orders at the Exeunt Press Shop have really picked up! I’m now shipping multiple days a week — as often as I reasonably can to keep up. I’ve asked Murphdog to assist, but she protested that she (1) does not have thumbs, and (2) has existing duties including sleeping under the desk. I can’t argue with logic like that.

🌱 TUMULUS Together
Last week I announced celebrating Skeleton Code Machine's 4,000th subscriber by giving TUMULUS to someone who wouldn't otherwise be able to subscribe.
The new TUMULUS Together program will gift free, annual subscriptions to current subscribers. They give those subscriptions to someone who needs it: a school tabletop gaming club, a public library with a gaming program, a creative child or teen who wants to make games, or someone they know who would love a TUMULUS subscription.
Sign up for a subscription between now and March 15 to get a chance to win!
SUBSCRIBE: TUMULUS from Skeleton Code Machine
Skeleton Code Machine is an ENNIE-nominated weekly publication that explores tabletop game mechanisms. It’s been called a “Seemingly endless source of gaming ponderings” and a “Goldmine.” Check it out at www.skeletoncodemachine.com.

Played some more Orléans (Stockhausen, 2014) on BGA. While the online implementation makes it hard to see the entire game state at a glance, it’s still a really enjoyable game. Each game plays out differently. I continue to be a fan of bag building as a mechanism. All around a good time.
