Hi!
I’m really excited to share a new game with you today!
Eleventh Beast is a solo monster hunting game with journaling and drawing elements, available now at exeuntpress.itch.io.
You are a CROWN INQUISITOR of The Imprecatory Society of Salomon’s House. A secret order of daemon hunters commissioned by King James to battle the first BEAST in 1616. Since then, a new BEAST has arrived every thirteen years.
The year is 1746, and the ELEVENTH BEAST is approaching. INVESTIGATE the rumors. LEARN its secrets. HUNT it down, and purge this evil from the land.
KNOWLEDGE is your WEAPON.
Inspired by Hellboy by Mike Mignola and Fallen by Perplexing Ruins, you will move through 18th century London, using a map of the city as it existed in 1746.
Investigate Unconfirmed Rumors of the beast as they spread across the city. Each one is an indication that the beast is approaching!
It’s a race to collect as much information as you can, and verify it beneath All-Hallows-The-Great to prepare for the coming Hunt. Only verified Learned Secrets involving Wards and Weapons will add dice to your pool.
The game is formatted as an A4 trifold pamphlet for the One-Page Page RPG Jam, but I’ve included a number of extras:
Stand-alone A5 printable map
Printable tokens with art by Perplexing Ruins
Example Inquisitor Notebook entry
The Eleventh Beast original sonnet
Alternate "improved contrast" version
I’m particularly happy with the tokens! While you can use coins, beads, or anything else for tokens, I think the art from Perplexing Ruins really adds to the experience!
The bones of this game have been bouncing around my head for a long time. I wanted a point-crawl around London, but with pressure and tough choices.
Eleventh Beast’s tension comes from trying to collect rumors vs. spending actions to verify them. In addition, uncollected rumors make the beast more likely to appear, but you won’t be prepared for the hunt if you don’t head back to All-Hallows.
With only two actions per day, choices matter!
If you enjoyed Exclusion Zone Botanist, I think you’ll really love Eleventh Beast. It’s tougher, has more mechanical depth, and provides prompts to guide your journaling and sketching.
Be sure to watch the Eleventh Beast release trailer, and then download the game!

I have just finished my first game confined to the shade to avoid the heat of eastern France. It was a fast and surprising but very addictive game. The mechanics are fluid and inspiring. With a mournful playlist and a bit of imagination, it's the perfect medium for a memorable London adventure. As comments, I think the NPC lists are a little too short because of the one page rpg format, it deserves a few more random tables to refine the moods and characters. Thank you for this very beautiful work shared!
