Not sure which colors to use in Affinity Publisher so they look correct when printed?
I manually keyed in over 200 CMYK-safe colors based on Mixam's Suggested Values & Colors. They are saved and exported as an .afpalette file, so you can easily import the swatches into Affinity Publisher.

🗺️ Using Hex Kit to make hexcrawl maps
I’ve been using Hex Kit quite a bit lately to make a map for an upcoming solo hexcrawl game. The software definitely has a learning curve, but I finally feel like I’m getting the hang of it.
To help share what I’ve learned, last week’s Skeleton Code Machine was my Top 10 Hex Kit Tile Packs, and also includes five tips for using Hex Kit.

🦴 How do you create MÖRK BORG art?
I saw a post on Reddit the other day:
To creators on here, how do you all create your art to match the “Mörk Borg style,” and/or where do you get your art? I can only find one guide (it was a pretty good YT video,) for creating. My art style seems too cluttered and pencil focused.
I think this is a fair question, and one that I’ve had to figure out over time as well.
MÖRK BORG successfully leverages public domain art in interesting ways to create a distinctive look (example). It’s not uncommon to see woodcuts and other public domain art in TTRPG products. Looking at the Wound Man page in the MÖRK BORG book shows, however, how the art is truly incorporated into the design.
I’ve found that taking a few public domain art pieces, adjusting the levels, and then trying out different layer blending (e.g. color burn, darken, etc.) can yield some similar grungy looks. Finding some grunge textures on Unsplash can really help as well.

Played some more Obsession and Roll Player recently!
I’ve often joked that I’d like to play a game that is only character creation, and nothing else.
Roll Player gets fairly close to that:
In Roll Player, you will compete to create the greatest fantasy adventurer who has ever lived, preparing your character to embark on an epic quest. Roll and draft dice to build up your character’s attributes. Purchase weapons and armor to outfit your hero. Train to gain skills and discover your hero’s traits to prepare them for their journey. Earn Reputation Stars by constructing the perfect character.
It’s a light game, and doesn’t make my Top 10, but still one that I enjoy. It has some satisfying drafting, and the dice manipulation options (tied to stats) are really interesting.
I think a group that’s into TTRPGs might enjoy the theme even if it is “generic fantasy.” There’s also Roll Player Adventures that allows you to import your Roll Player characters and run a co-op adventure with them!
